Who we are
A global agri-business with a clear vision, strong values and a positive culture
With 11,000 people in 35 countries, COFCO International is the overseas agriculture business platform for COFCO Corporation, China’s largest food and agriculture company.
In 2018, COFCO International handled over 100 million tonnes of related commodities with revenues of $31bn. The company is accelerating its growth to create a world-class integrated global agriculture supply chain, anchored in China and competing globally.
COFCO International’s UK operations are active at every stage of the grains and oilseeds supply chain, purchasing all types and grades of combinable crops from farmers across the UK. The company markets and distributes these to a growing customer-base in the food, feed and bioenergy sectors at home and abroad.
The grains and oilseeds trading activities are complemented by the supply of farm inputs. These comprise a comprehensive range of certified seeds and all grades of solid and liquid fertilisers.
Strategically located UK resources support COFCO’s significant global sourcing and distribution capabilities whilst bringing customers intimate knowledge of local market drivers including farm economics, weather patterns, and government policies.
With a long-standing market presence, COFCO has a deep understanding of the world’s largest agricultural markets with a vision to create a vertically-integrated global agricultural supply chain, strengthen worldwide origination, logistics and trading capabilities and grow the business globally.
Over 50 Years of experience in handling food trade
Using our extensive geographical reach, we work to optimise the flow of commodities by monitoring global supply and demand trends, weather patterns and price drivers for crops. With our direct involvement in the supply chain, we support food and agriculture systems that optimise production efficiency and minimise wastage, contributing to global food security.
Our Sustainability Principles
Population growth, climate change and water scarcity put a strain on our global food system. The agriculture sector must continually rise to meet these challenges, while ensuring a commitment to responsible agricultural practices and supply chain management.
Managing our environmental impact
Managing Across COFCO Agri’s operations, we seek to systemically manage our environmental impact by reducing our carbon footprint, improving water efficiency, controlling waste and pollution, and managing land responsibly.
